YOU ARE INVITED...to a fun filled fundraising event

Hello Band Family,

You are personally invited to join us for one of these fun filled fundraising days at the Air Force Academy.   We still have plenty of slots open for both Air Force Concessions we hope that you will consider joining us. 

• Mr. Hedding talked about in the marching meetings this past week that Air Force Concessions is not only a fun fundraiser but an experience that helps bond us together as a band family. 
• These two sessions will help raise some funds that will help cover some of the expenses that we incur over the summer. 
•  Please check your calendar and see if you can join us on either of the dates. May 23rd or June 2 
•  Encourage your child (16 or over) to volunteer as well.
• They can get a running start on earning volunteer hours for next year 
• Papers with a  QR code are hanging on Mr. Hedding's door for students to sign up.

Dear Band Families

Our End of Year Banquet is quickly approaching this Friday evening at the Falcon Club.  With that, we would also like to honor our staff and especially be able to say goodbye to Mrs. Matzke.  Although a gift is not required, when we put our funds together, we can get some very nice things.  We give to Mr. Hedding, Mrs. Matzke and our other staff who have assisted our kids throughout the year.  If you would like to make a donation toward end of year staff gifts, please do so by this Thursday, May 10 by placing an envelope in the Red Mailbox and mark it as STAFF GIFTS.

Good Morning Band friends,

I hope you had an excellent weekend and have enjoyed the warm weather!

Last week I let you know about our wonderful opportunity to raise funds for our band by running a concession stand for the Air Force Graduation on May 23rd.  We are still in a need of volunteers for that date.  You can sign up by pressing the link here.  If it is at all possible in your schedule, I would love to see you there for a fun filled rewarding day.

Also we have been asked to run the concession stand for the Warrior Games Opening Ceremony and concert with Kelly Clarkson on June 2, 2018!

Saturday June 2, 2018

    2018 OPENING CEREMONY & CONCERT WITH KELLY CLARKSON

• Shift is 4:00pm-closing (likely done and out between 9 and 10 pm). Stand opens at 500pm.

• This sign up will close at 5pm on Tuesday May 22, 2018. We must supply all information to USAFA that day.
• Students must be 16 to work.
• Report Time is 4:00 PM. Estimated release time is 10:00 PM - must arrive and be at the concession stand at 4:00 PM - allow for AF gate time, drive time, parking time, and walking time. 
• Enter USAFA through South gate
• Walk up hill to enter stadium at gate #7 and proceed to concession stand #3.
• Must wear a hat. Anyone with facial hair(beards) cannot work with food and must be a cashier. Dress comfortably - Liberty gear preferred. Wear comfortable shoes.
• You may bring your own food/snacks and unopened drinks. All brought in food must be in a clear zip lock bag. In addition, you will receive a $4 voucher to buy a food or drink item. You may purchase drinks and food.
• Upon arrival, help complete inventory, setup, and prepare food.
• After event - Everyone stays to count inventory and cleanup.
• If you have not taken a food handlers test in the 2017-2018 school year, you must take it now and turn it in by May 22 or scan and email to libertybandboosters@gmail.com.

It has come to our attention that the USAFA now requires a Date of Birth for all those over the age of 18 entering the academy without a military ID.  Please use the attached form in place of the one previously received.  If you have already submitted your form, I will be contacting you.

It's that time!  The last big celebration of all things band!  Please join us for the ultimate celebration on May 11, 2918.  Please check your email for your invitation which has all the information you need about the event and how to reserve your place.  There will also be extra forms in the band room.

Please note:  All reservations must be received by May 2, 2018 at 4:00pm.  No late reservations will be accepted.  Please place the form and your payment in the Red Mailbox in the band room.  It will also be accepted at the LBB General Meeting on April 26th at 6:30pm.  Student Accounts can be used to pay.

Panera Fundraising Night 3/20/18

Don't forget that tomorrow night 3/20/18 is Panera fundraising Night from 4-8 PM at the the Promenade shops of Briargate Panera.  Yay, for not having to cook dinner!  :)     Attached is the flyer for you to bring with you or show on your phone.

Booster Meeting March 7, 2018

BOOSTER MEETING

 Don't forget our Booster meeting on Wednesday March 7th at 6:30 PM.  Remember we need 75 people to come for a free $500 from Ryan the mattress guy.  Please check for signs in the band hallway for where the meeting will be as choir concerts are happening in the auditorium.  We hope to see you all there!  

SCRIP   

The next Scrip order due date will be Wednesday, March 7.  This is a great time to purchase gift cards to use during Spring Break and earn money for your student's account.  It's also not to earlier to start thinking about, Mother's/Father's Day or graduation gifts!

Orders must be submitted online by 8PM,  dropped of in the red mailbox by the end of  the school day, or turned in at the Band Booster Meeting on Wednesday, March 7.

MATTRESS FUNDRAISER  

This is our final week to promote the Mattress Fundraiser!  We need everyone to reach out to their friends, family, neighbors and coworkers and tell them about the event!!! For quick information, text Liberty to 719-749-1941.  We are also inviting you to our Liberty Band Parent Meeting this week to learn more.  If we get 75+ parents in attendance, we earn an extra $500 to our program!!!

DATE CORRECTION FOR BAND BANQUET

The correct date for end of the year band banquet is Friday May 11th, not May 12th as we announced at the booster meeting on January 8th.  Please mark your calendars and information will follow in the coming weeks.
