Hello Fellow Marching Parents,

We hope you are enjoying your summer. Here are a few things coming up for you to be aware of. 

Big Loud and Live 

We have bought 76 tickets to Big Loud and Live at the Regal Interquest, 1120 Interquest Pkwy, Colorado Springs, CO 80920 on Aug 8th at 4:30 PM - 9:45.  Tickets are $19/each.   Reserve your tickets HERE .  We hope this will be a fun event for our band kids.  Parents and siblings welcome if they are interested. Due to the limited availability and the length of the show, we ask that siblings be 6th grade or above.  Payment for reserved tickets will be due by July 31st.  

Music Rehearsal

Don't forget Full ensemble rehearsal for Marching Band (Music Rehearsal Only) at the LDS Church, 8610 Scarborough 9 AM -12 PM on July 15th.  Questions?  Have your child ask their section leader

Fees

Course fees ( payable on payforit or to the school book keeper)

• $150 - due June 15
• $150 - due July 15
• $200 - due Aug 15

Field Trip Fees

• $400 - due Oct 1  (payable on payforit, to the school book keeper, or with Student Allocations)
• $250 - due Oct 1 (payable via check to Liberty Band Boosters, with Student Allocations, or electronic (more info to come later) 

The school book keeper will be back and should ready to accept payments next Monday (15th).  Currently Payforit is undergoing some changes and is not currently accepting fees.  So please be patient.  If you haven't paid June you are in the same boat as a whole lot of us.  :-)    We will keep you updated on this as we can.

Hello 2019 Marching Parents,

Mini Band Camp is in just a few days and we are gearing up. Things will be a bit different this year to you veterans. To you who are just getting started please know some things this year are a first for all of us.  We ask for your flexibility, patience, and positive attitude as we go about making adjustments in not having our normal  building to operate out of this summer.  I am writing you this email to let you know of the following few things.

First, is just to let know that we are still accepting BBQ reservations through Wednesday.  I have attached the flyer.  Since there is no red mailbox at the stadium, please place flyer and payment in an envelope and have your student hand it to their section leader first thing that morning.  I will collect it from them and get to Elizabeth Hodson. As a quick reminder, please bring your own camp chairs and blankets to the BBQ for you and your family.  

Second, is that as per usual we need volunteer help during mini band camp. Jobs may be slightly different than you are used to because of the different venue.  Please know that the Liberty Band Booster organization exists to help support our directors, their staff and our kids.  That means that we rely on people like you to help us build a successful mini camp and a successful program for our kids to participate in.  It is said that many hands make light work which it is true, but I also invite you to come, participate and you will soon find you are working alongside an amazing group of people known affectionately as our band family.  Please click the link below,  check your schedules, and sign up where you can.

Lastly, this is the first time we are using this new list for the 2019 Marching Band.  If things have changed in your household since you filled out the online form, please let me know and I will make the necessary corrections.

King Soopers Cards BIG Changes

King Soopers Cards BIG Changes

As you may have heard there are BIG changes to the King Soopers Fundraiser for Liberty Band.   After March 31st reloading funds on your gift card will no longer fund Liberty Band Boosters or your students accounts.  This is a change made by King Soopers and how they donate to non-profit organizations.  Instead they are rolling out a new program  April 1st called King Soopers Community Rewards. It will pay a percentage based on all your purchases with your membership card or alternate ID.  All the instructions on how to enroll in this new program are in your email and on wil be placed on Facebook. (if you did not receive an email, please contact libertybandboosters@gmail.com)  They are step by step instructions so please read thoroughly and carefully as most all questions should be answered in there.   Please note that if you have money currently on your gift card it will NOT expire until all funds are spent.  In fact you can load your card March 31st or before, enroll in the new program and then spend your card after April 1st, thus double dipping for this time.

Tomorrow evening, Monday March 18, will be a mandatory meeting for all parents of students going on the Dallas trip.  Meeting is 6:30 PM LHS Gym 

Our travel coordinator Ken Overboe will be going over details of the trip.  

Also, immediately following will be the March General Booster Meeting.  Please stick around for a short meeting and find out any other details of booster activity including announcement of new board candidates, upcoming changes to King Soopers cards, upcoming band calendar - remaining schedule for school year ( 2019 Marching band mini-camp is approx 77 days away  ). 

Please refer to your March 17, 2019 email for minutes from the January General Meeting.

Scrip gift cards will be available.  Yard sign orders will be available (Seniors?)

Solo / Ensemble Judges and Directors Dinner 2019

Sorry this is such late notice on this but, our Judges and Band Directors have 2 full evenings for Solo and Ensemble on March 11th and 12th.

To reward them for their dedicated work, and to sustain them and keep them coming back, we are providing dinner each evening. Please plan for 10-12 people.
